Melissa brings 11 years of clinical experience to her patients at STARS. She graduated Cum Laude in 2003 from Michigan State University with a degree in Human Biology and went on to pursue her Doctorate of Physical Therapy degree from the University of Saint Augustine, graduating Magna Cum Laude in 2006.
Since graduation, Melissa has been practicing primarily in outpatient orthopedics and has extensive continuing education training in treatment concepts. She has pursued advanced certifications including a Manual Therapy Certification (MTC 2009), ASTYM certification (ASTYM 2015), and a Selective Functional Movement Assessment Certification (SFMA 2016). Melissa is passionate about treating the “whole person” rather than just the patient’s condition or injury. Melissa’s clinical interests include Breast Cancer rehabilitation following mastectomy, post-operative rehabilitation, and general orthopedic and sports rehabilitation.
Melissa resides in Saint Augustine in the World Golf Village area with her husband, Chad and her daughter. In her spare time, she enjoys hiking and exploring area parks and trails with her family, swimming and visiting Walt Disney World.
